11 man limit

Postby GR8HNTR on Mon Nov 10, 2008 6:25 pm

Over the weekend we set out to shoot some honkers. Had a friend I met in Aug. come up from Utah to hunt with us. We went out saturday and had a slow day, shot 6 geese. He came back up sunday with his brother and one of their friends. My youngest son Taylor said dad how are we going to hunt with 11 guys. I just smiled and said that we are all hunting under layouts. So we gathered for the afternoon hunt. We headed out and set up in the middle of a stubble field with all 11 layouts in the middle of our deeks. We set out some where around 170 decoys. Got al lof the blinds well covered with straw and waited for the geese to head our way. We had less then an hour wait and here they came! Well as my son and his buddies started talkin as we were droppin the birds, we sent 44 geese to be with Jesus. They decided we needed one more decal for our trailer. Sendin geese to Jesus! All in all we shot 53 birds in two days! Here are some pictures of our hunt!

Wow I bet is sounded like a B52 was makling a bombing run when then guns went off! Way to go.

We shot and 8 man limit of ducks last year and it was nuts. Nothing like 56 dead ducks to clean!

How much fun did you have with the knive when you got home?

nice job. looks like the honkers are in your area now. hope they come down here well it is only a 2 hour drive for me I would love to make it up there call me next time so we can come video lol. jk sounds like a good time in the field and a bad time at home after. I think I can smell the jerky cooking from here with all of that meat.

The trailer looks good also.
