12-20-2008 hunt!

Postby GR8HNTR on Mon Dec 22, 2008 9:02 pm

Dustin (neckcoller) Josh and Wayne came down from Utah to go out goose hunting with me this morning. Started off a bad morning. Headed out to the field and our decoy trailer came unhooked! Luckily it stayed up right and nothing was hurt. Got to the field and it was windy, snowing and cold! Got set up and had a few singles and pairs drop in. Then one of my buddies had to head out, he grabbed 4 birds and left, Josh went out with him to help carry his birds n gear. before Josh could get back into the field we had 4 more down. Then here they came, single, doubles, triples and a few bigger flocks. But it was the triples n less that were workin us the best. We had birds droppin right in the deeks without even calling them! It was freakin awsum to watch them drop right in. We had birds landin 10 feet from our layouts. Even had two drop right in with dan (my lab) out running around chasin birds that we just shot. The pair didn't even blink an eye and dropped right in. There mistake for they neverleft the deeks! We ended up with an 7 man limit (28 birds). Here are some pictures of our morning out!
