Paint projects or Check book gymnastics

Postby Duckpoor on Sun Sep 14, 2008 2:03 am

Sept season is always an eye opener for us .

By the time we put them in the shed at the end of the year I really don't care what shape they are in and I know a little TLC would go along way .
But I don't and when I drag them out, Some of them need attention. BAD

Tough trying to decide..
Spend time and a little $$$ to spruce these up again .. or sell abunch of fixeruppers to someone and break down with an Investment.

I don't know.... what do you all think..?
We have killed a bunch over these old men and they are solid.. or Is shiney and New the way to go?

R Green
Trying to decide. Am I still learning or relearning what I already forgot?

Dennis and I are in the same boat. But I will tell you now that a bit of paint that is chipped touched up goes a long way. Why go out there and spend 125 on 6 decoys or even more than that when a little tlc and 50 bucks or so will do your entire spread. some flat black paint for the heads and some whit and brown touch up paint for the body you are good to go. I always say if they can see a paint touch up the should be dead. The biggest thing is that the paint does not shine.
