DU because that is what I know. We don't have to much delta around yet so I don't know about them a whole lot.

If you don't have a Delta Chapter look into starting one. We finally got one started here (first on in Oregon) a little over a year ago and it has already made a huge impact. DU is great but Delta really does put their money where their mouth is.

They keep things pretty simple and it works.

Delta Waterfowl's Vision:

To secure the future of waterfowl and waterfowl hunting.

Delta Waterfowl's Mission:

Delta provides knowledge, leaders and science-based solutions that efficiently conserve waterfowl and secure the future for waterfowl hunting.

Strategic Objectives:

* Conduct high-quality research

* Train students

* Communicate results

* Evaluate new scientific techniques

* Influence public policy

* Preserve and promote hunting as an integral part of waterfowl management.

Adam,

Last year I spent a lot of time on the phone with Delta about starting up a chapter. As I looked into the capter I realized Delta is about the sciene of waterfowl. The interesting thing was they thought that their way was the only way. I believe they have a good thought behind what they do IMO if Delta and DU team up their efforts there would be even more birds and habitat. As any non-profit goes they focus and need money. As a chapter your job and focus is about your annual banquet and how much money you bring in.

Adam-

I agree that their should be more joint efforts but that would be a hard sell. As much as Delta thinks that they do things the right way so does DU. :wink:

For me.. At the end of the day it's about making sure my kids have places to hunt waterfowl. I will send my money every year to DU but both my time and money will go to Delta.

BTW.... I would love to know who you talked to at Delta (Who was the region rep you spoke with). I can tell you they bent over backwards to help us get one started here in Oregon. If you do not have to bad of a taste left in your mouth I could send you some names and #'s.

Cheers,

Adam

For me it would be DU...

I don't like being told not to shoot Hens and every Delta Person I have talked to spews that crap...!

also I notice at DU events not everyone in the room hunts Ducks the Last Dinner I helped run for DU a few weeks ago I could count on both hands guys that hunt ducks... the raise a whole lot of money out of people that don't hunt waterfowl and just go for the social reasons...

I will Say Delta does put their money were there Mouth is and does alot for ducks...
