2007 started off rough for us due to the Corps of Engineers dropping the Mississippi River 5 foot below normal pool. Our blind sat for three weeks in the middle of a mud flat so we had to make due by hunting the public CA's.

When the water came back so did the ducks so we salvaged a somewhat decent season - not the season of the past few years but still decent all and all!

Season over? We still have 2 more weeks of goose season here in Virginia. The season started out very slow till the last week of the duck season, then things really got hopping, my kids and I were hitting limits each the last couple days that ducks were in; we have two more goose hunts to go!

This season was different. I hunted twice as many times and with 12 new guys from around Idaho. I introduced two new guys to waterfowl hunting. During October and November which are typically the hard two months for us to hunt where the best this year. December was by far the best hunting I have ever done. More birds in less time with a lot less effort than usual. I was disappointed in not getting any bands this year. Last year we shot our first banded duck and with numbers being so good we really wanted number 2. Oh well we don't hunt to shoot bands we hunt for fun and to spend time will all my other addicted friends.

It will be along 10 months!
